Summer Break Tasting events 2025 A taste of Scotland From the gentle Lowlands to the bold, peat-forward expressions of Islay, this tasting journey will take us through each of Scotland’s whisky regions. As always with our events, no two tastings are ever the same. With exciting new releases and rare finds constantly emerging, you never know what unique drams might make an appearance. With a variety of ABVs and wood styles shaping the flavour journey, we begin with a delicate Lowland, move on to a rounded, fruity Highland, enjoy the classic character of Speyside, then venture westward to the Islands and finally arrive at the bold, smoky expressions of Islay. Discovery Tastings Traditional Classics This tasting explores the classic whisky styles of Scotland, revealing the wood styles and distilling practices of iconic Scottish distilleries. Some distilleries have remained unchanged since the 1800s, serving as the foundation of the whisky industry we know today. Each whisky in this tasting will possess a distinctive flavour profile, providing you with a comprehensive sensory experience. New and Emerging Classics Several distilleries have opened in Scotland and Ireland since the beginning of this century. For example, the Lowlands of Scotland now have eleven distilleries, compared to just three in the early 2000s. Ireland has also seen a rise in distilleries, with the number increasing from about fifty in 2003 to the current figure. In this tasting, we will explore the diverse range of new distilleries, uncovering the whiskies that have yet to captivate your palate and the distilleries that have spearheaded the revival of the Scottish whisky industry and the frontrunners in the new and fast-emerging Irish whiskey market. Step Back In Time The Nostalgia Tasting Event Have you ever had the chance to taste a Littlemill or Banff single malt from the last century? What about the original Rosebank or Saint Magdalene? Perhaps a beautifully aged 50-year-old Speyside is more your style. Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast who’s experienced these rare and exquisitely balanced whiskies, someone hoping for a first taste, or simply looking for one last opportunity to enjoy them, this is the tasting for you. Even in this establishment, the world’s oldest independent whisky shop, we encounter situations where items are depleted or become prohibitively expensive, making their replacement virtually impossible. Consequently, we regret to inform you that we will not be offering this type of tasting again for open bookings. This may be the last chance to try some truly legendary whiskies at a reasonable price. (Spaces are very limited for public tastings of this range. If you would like us to arrange a private session for three or more people, email us at bar@3greekstreet.com)
